Community Is King
You will become mentally and physically stronger. Your body composition will change, your muscles will recover faster and you will move with more speed and precision. Daily life will become easier. Work will become easier. Your family, friends and even the waitress at your favourite café will notice change, a shift in your physique, your posture and your self-confidence. They will listen with a mixture of awe and abject horror as you begin to describe CrossFit to them. Half of them will probably seek CrossFit out for themselves.
The community you will become a part of will hold you up on the days you want to quit, they will drag you kicking and screaming to the finish if they have to and expect you to do the same for them, and you will.
Your coaches will ask a great deal of you, sometimes more than you think you are capable of but never more than we know you are capable of.
Together we will strive to do the common uncommonly well, to move with excellent form always and to constantly achieve greater levels of fitness. The immediate goal is increased range of motion, aerobic capacity and body composition adaptations. The end goal is to be as functional as possible for as long as possible.
We are not seeking to get 6 packs or to live longer, although these things are not unfortunate bi-products. We want to forge a community, a broad community encompassing all walks of life, a community bound together by camaraderie and friendship all striving to be the best versions of ourselves that we can. Striving for Functionality, Integrity and Virtuosity always.
What we do is hard. The training methods and principles we have adopted demand a great deal of hard work, dedication and faith to undertake them. Faith in your coaches and the CrossFit program. You will sweat, your muscles will hurt, you may cry, you may even have days that you hate your training or wish for something easier. The workouts wont get easier, the barbell won't get lighter, the box jumps lower or the runs shorter. You will, however, prevail.
